Equity Fee In Lieu of Gratuity?
This is incredibly important to us. In short, we believe the public should not decide which staff member earns more. For far too long there have been inequities and imbalance in restaurant pay scales. We are looking to disrupt this archaic system. We instead structure pay equitably, so all staff benefits and not just some. More about our values explained here!
Edit Party Size or Time
You may edit your party size/time via Resy if you are not within our 24 hour cancel/edit policy. Please do not book a time or a party size that does not work for you. We can not adjust 5 pm to a later time and 8:45 pm to an earlier time. It's important all guests arrive on time for their chosen reservation time. Our seating times are chosen with the pacing of our kitchen and dining room in mind. If you have a guest in your party who suddenly can not attend, email us immediately. Different size reservations have different seating times and we may need to change your reserved time to accommodate your new party size.
Last minute cancellations and no shows are plaguing our industry. We consider a reservation a bilateral agreement and we ask that your reservation is honored. Guests who cancel inside 24 hours will be charged a fee of 25.00 per guest. All no shows will be charged, no exceptions. If you'd like to know more about how last minute cancellations and no shows impact restaurants, reach out for a more detailed explanation.
We are one of the few restaurants in SF who seat incomplete parties. We'd love to continue doing so but we need your help. Please, if members of your party arrive late ask your server when the next reservation is booked for your table so you may be respectful to the guests dining after you.
Please allow ample time for parking. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we will place you on a waitlist for the next available table. We can not hold tables past 15 minutes.
My reservation is at 8:45 but you close at 9?
Our last seating is at 9 pm, we do not close at 9 pm. We assure that all guests have their order in and are well nourished prior to our kitchen starting to break down. We always give fair warning.
We have changed everything about how we hire. We look at a series of questions instead of a resume. We are more interested in what you can do, how you want to move forward, and your strengths. We are not interested in knowing your past because we want to learn about you and meet you at the moment. This series of questions also allows our human growth team to scrub all biased info before setting up a phone interview. After the interview, if both parties feel it's a match, we move forward with an in-person paid trial (in the restaurant world called a stage). After the stage, we evaluate with our team, and we ask the candidate if they feel we are a good fit? You can apply or see our process here!
Wine Corkage/Dessert Fee
You have so much power as a consumer. A direct way to support family-owned restaurants is by purchasing wine and desserts in-house. We are proud of the programs we develop and we prefer outside food and drink not be brought in. If you feel strongly about bringing your own items our corkage is 30.00 per bottle, limit two bottles. Our dessert fee is 10.00 per dessert. To learn more about non-monetary ways to help restaurants click here!
Our Wine Ethos and Philosophy
Equitable distribution of our spending/buying power is essential to our businesses. We can support those who overlap our values, amplify voices and perspectives different from our own, and weave a colorful narrative of people and their craft within our story.
Restaurants are no longer just places of food & libation.
Restaurants are bastions for the community they represent. They can offer a deeper look into a thoughtful ecosystem based on intention, equity & representation. The following values are essential to us; Organic, biodynamic, low intervention within viticulture & vinification processes, ethical business practices, eco-friendly, local, female-led in the cellar, female proprietorship or partnership, family owned & operated. Meet Aimee, our wine director.
We love dogs but non-service dogs are not allowed inside, and we do not have outdoor seating.
We only have indoor seating at this time.
We are currently only seating parties of up to 7 guests. We hope to introduce large parties and private events soon.
